Abstract
PURPOSE: In the presence of a powdery catalyst containing vanadium and others as metal components, the hydrocracking of heavy hydrocarbons is conducted under specific conditions with pressurized hydrogen to prevent the activity reduction of the catalyst caused by adhesion of carbon and metals and to produce light oil in high efficiency.
CONSTITUTION: In the presence of a powdery catalyst containing vanadium and/or nickel as metal components, heavy hydrocarbons are hydrocracked at 400W480°C under conditions of 30W150kg/cm2G hydrogen partial pressure. The powdery catalyst contains nickel and vanadium at a weight ratio of 30/70W70/30 as oxides and the heavy hydrocarbon as a feedstock is, e.g., crude oil such as oilsand bitumen, atmospheric distillation residue, vacuum distillation distillate or residue.
