Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable prevention of overheat damage of a compressor and the like by forming a bridge circuit one side of which is connected with the motor coil of the compressor and the like and by detecting the change in resistance of the motor coil thereby to control the air conditioner.
CONSTITUTION: The bridge circuit is formed of the main winding coil 7a and an auxiliary winding coil 7b of a motor 7 of the compressor and of the resistors R1, R2 and R3 of the control circuit. The voltage V+ parted by the resistors R1 and R2 is inputted to the plus terminal of an IC comparator 13, while the voltage V- parted by resistances of the coils 7a and 7b connected between terminals 11 and 11' and the resistor R3 is inputted to the minus terminal of the IC comparator 13. When the value of resistance of the coils 7a and 7b is raised as the temperature thereof rises, the voltage V- is lowered to be V+>V-, the output 13 of the comparator 13 reaches an H level and the output 15 of the control circuit is turned ON whereby a protecting device for preventing the overheat damage of the motor 7 of the compressor is made to operate.
