Abstract

PURPOSE:To intend to extend the life of a battery by using a titanium dioxide in a state of forming an interlayer compound with lithium in a charging condition as a negative active material, and vanadium penta-oxide as a positive active material. CONSTITUTION:A positive active material 1 is formed to be a disc with a teflon binder after adding a graphite to V2O5. A negative active material 2 is formed to be a disc with a teflon binder after adding a graphite to anatase type TiO2, said surface being directly contacted with metalic Li punched in a disc. A separator 4 is impregnated in an electrolyte wherein lighium perchlorate is dissolved in a given organic solvent. The volume of negative active material 2 is desirable to be less than a volume in case when the V2O5 of positive active material 1 performes one electron reaction. The interlayer compound of Li. TiO2, as a negative active material, is desirable to be formed by self-discharge after incorporating therein.
