Abstract

PURPOSE: To lift and reset the underwater craft safely by a method wherein an underwater-craft holding body is suspended from winch drums provided on a marine structure such as a mother ship, then the underwater craft present in the sea is clamped by a hydraulic mechanism of arms of the holding body and is lifted.
CONSTITUTION: The underwater-craft holding body 6 is suspended by ropes 15, 16, 17, 18 which are rewindably let off from the winch drums 26, 27, 28, 29 provided on the marine structure. The holding body 6 is provided with a plurality of movable arms 7, 8, 9 and hydraulic circuit. A hydraulic motor 44 and hydraulic cylinders 34, 35, 36, 37 in the hydraulic circuit are selectively operated by solenoid valves so as to control the opening, closing and locking of the arms 7, 8, 9, 10. The craft 1 docked with the holding body 6 is tightly held by the arms 7, 8, 9, 10 of the holding body 6, then lifted into the marine structure by winding the ropes 15, 16, 17. 18 onto the winch drums 26, 27, 28, 29 respectively, and can be reset in the sea by simple operation.
