Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent the heat radiation of high temperature steel material, by applying the mixture of specified ratio of aluminum waste slag or aluminum waste slag and organic or inorganic carbon on the surface of the steel material having a fixed ratio. CONSTITUTION:Film is formed by applying the aluminum waste slag containing 1-10% salt and cryolite (AlF3.3NaF) on the surface of steel material heated at 300-1,400 deg.C and heat radiation is prevented. Or, mixture of said waste slag and organic or inorganic carbon at 50:1-50:20 ratio, is applied. Constituent of the aluminum waste slag is, for example, 55.0-65.0 aluminum oxide, 8-20 metallic aluminum having a warm keeping effect and also, the component forming a uniform film, is 1-4% salt, 1-5% cryolite. Organic or inorganic carbon is burnt after application and heat transmission is lowered by generated carbonic acid gas. Binding agent, such as sodium tetrapolyphosphate, etc., is allowed to use for application, but <=20% whole solid matter is used.
