Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a 3-channel PCM adaptor by constituting so that an audio signal of the third channel can be quantized, compressed, recorded and reproduced, in an acoustic PCM recording and reproducing equipment which has utilized a VTR. CONSTITUTION:The third channel signal C is input to the A/D converter 14 through the LPF 12, etc., A/D conversion of 12 bits is executed in said converter, and the compressed information is sent to the latch circuit 19. As for the signals A, B, 12 bits which have disregarded 2 bits of low rank among 14 bits are converted to 9 bits by compressing 2 tangential lines, and 14 bits each are alternately input to the recording circuit 6 through the multiplexer 18, etc. At the time of reproduction, the output from the reproducing circuit 7 is arrayed in the 28 bit latch circuit 22. The A and B channels send out signals to the D/A converter 5 through the multiplexer 23, etc. The channel C outputs a signal through the expanding shift register 24 and the LPF12. According to such a constitution, it is possible to obtain a 3- channel PCM adaptor.
