Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce the time required for the centering process drastically by controlling the rotational speed of a lens turning motor according to the angle of rotation of a rotary shaft detected. CONSTITUTION:Projection members 14, 15 and 16 are arranged at a position of 20 deg., 100 deg., 230 deg. and 340 deg. to change-over the rotational speed of a lens 5 according to the rotational speed of a motor M. Here, for example, as a diamond tool 11 won't come in contact with the lens 5 before a driving shaft 8 turns by up to 20 deg. in the process, the lens 5 is rotated away. While the rotary shaft turns from 20 deg. to 100 deg., only centering is performed with a relatively fast rotation. This eliminates the need for adjusting the rotation of the lens 5 to the centering process requiring the lowest rotational speed thereby reducing the time for the centering process drastically.
