Abstract
PURPOSE:To provide the recording material for information which has enhanced sensitivity, signal-to-noise ratio and stability and is capable of producing minute patterns by a method wherein a metal-oxide stabilizing layer consisting of a homogeneous layer of a plurality of metal oxides is provided between a base plate and a metal recording layer. CONSTITUTION:On the base plate such as a polyethylene film are sequentially provided (A) the metal-oxide stabilizing layer consisting of the homogenous layer of at least two metal oxides (preferably, SiO2, Al2O3, Sb2O3, ZrO2, PbO, ZnO, TiO2, etc., the thickness of the layer being 30-300Angstrom ), (B) the metal recording layer of low toxicity (preferably, In, Bi, Sn, Pb, etc., the thickness being 200-600Angstrom ) and (C) a metal-compound stabilizing layer (preferably, oxide of Ge, Al, Si, etc. or fluoride of Ca, Mg, etc., the thickness being 20-300Angstrom ), to obtain the objective material. EFFECT:When irradiating the material with laser beams, the edge parts by recorded holes exhibit no irregulaities.
