Abstract

PURPOSE:To discriminate an analog signal into binary value and to increase the resolution without providing a density correction circuit, by forming a discrimination signal including DC components in an analog signal is rejected and comparing this signal with the threshold value. CONSTITUTION:The analog binary value discriminator consists of a capacitor 2 connected to the input terminal 1 and analog comparator 3 connected to the capacitor 2, and a resistor 4, diode 5 and diodes 6, 7 in anti-parallel connection are connected to the noninverting input terminal (+) of the comparator 3, and the power supply connecting terminal 8 is connected to another end of the diode 5 via a potentiometer 9. Power supply terminals 14, 16 are connected to the inverting terminal (-) via diodes 12, 13 and potentiometers 15, 17, and the diodes 6, 7 and capacitor 10 are connected via the resistor 11. Further, after rejecting the DC component from the analog signal, the signal obtained from DC regeneration is taken as the discrimination signal, and this discrimination signal is compared with the threshold value of a given level, allowing to increase the resolution without providing a density correction circuit.
