Abstract

PURPOSE: To produce a high-molecular compound excellent in electrical and mechanical properties and adhesiveness and usable also as a curing agent, by reacting a compound having a phenolic OH with an alkylakoxy Si compound.
CONSTITUTION: This high-molecular compound is produced by reacting a compound having at least one phenolic OH in the molecule with a compound represented by the formula, wherein n is 1W3, R is an alkyl containing or not containing a functional group, R' is a C1W3 alkyl, when there are a plurality of R groups, the groups may be entirely or partially different from each other, and the same is true also in case of OR' groups, at normal or elevated temperature in the presence of an amine catalyst or an alkali catalyst. This high-molecular compound can be used for the production of products excellent in electrical properties and mechanical properties such as impact resistance and also for the production of adhesives having excellent adhesiveness. Moreover, the compound can be used as a curing agent.
