Abstract

PURPOSE: To produce a high-molecular compound which can provide products excellent in electrical and mechanical properties and adhesiveness and has a possible use as a curing agent, by reacting a compound having a phenolic OH with an alkoxy Ti compound.
CONSTITUTION: This high-molecular compound is produced by reacting compund A defined below with compound B defined below at normal or elevated temperature in the presence of an amine catalyst or an alkali catalyst. Compound A is a compound having at least one phenolic OH in the molecule, and compound B is an alkoxytitanium represented by the formula, wherein n is 1W3, R is an alkyl containing or not containing a functional group, a functional group can intervene between R and O, R' is a C1W3 alkyl, when there are a plurality of (RO) groups, the groups may be entirely or partially different from each other and the same is true in case of (OR') groups.
