Abstract
PURPOSE: To prepare an organopolysiloxane useful as a curing agent of polymers, by reacting an organohydrogen polysiloxane with a specific amine, and then reacting the resulting intermediate with a hydroxylamine.
CONSTITUTION: A compound of formula I (R1 is univalent hydrocarbon or alkoxy; 0.5≤a≤2.96; 0.04≤b<2.5; 1≤a+b≤3) is made to react with an amine of formula II (R2 is specific univalent hydrocarbon; R3 is H or R2) to obtain an intermediate of formula III (0.02≤c<1.5; 0.02≤b-c<1.0; n=2W10), which is made to react with a compound of formula YOH [Y is group of formula IV (R4, R5 are H or univalent hydrocarbon), etc.] to afford an organopolysiloxane of formula V. The compound of formula V is useful as a curing agent for a polymer having OH-blocked chain terminals, or a coupling agent.
