PURPOSE:To offer an inexpensive reflecting member superior in heat resistance, chemical resistance, weather resistance, and wear resistance, by allowing to adhere a transparent inorganic-substance protective film having 0.5-2.5mum thickness to the surface of a metallic reflecting film. CONSTITUTION:On substrate 10 of aluminum, a steel plate, stainless steel, plastics, etc., base layer 11 is formed at need by using heat-resisting resin, such as phenol resin, epoxy resin and silicone resin. On the resin, a metallic reflecting film made of Al, Ag, etc., is formed. On the film, transparent inorganic-substance protective film 13 consisting of SiO, SiO2, etc., is further formed to 0.5-2.5mum thickness. Thus, the reflecting member superior in heat resistance, chemical resistance, weather resistance, and wear resistance can be obtained.
