Abstract
PURPOSE: To prevent surely freezing of the part of a water intake float that is in contact with waters, by winding an inner and/or outer surface of the intake float made of steel for intaking surface water of a dam, etc. with a skin current heating tube.
CONSTITUTION: A conical reciever 17 with a hole in the center is mounted beneath an intake float 9 placed on the water surface 11 of a pond. Surface water 12 flows through a gap between the float 9 and the conical reciever 17 and are taken out through an intake channel 10. In winter freezing 19 due to ice and snow takes place to the float 9, with freezing 20 inside where the float 9 makes contact with waters. Therefore, a skin current heating tube where an insulated wire is loosely inserted in a ferromagnetic steel tubes 1, 1' and the insulated wire 2 is connected to an AC power source 3, is wound to a part of the steel plate of the float 9 that makes contact with water and fitted by soldering 18. Thus freezing 19, 20 an the float 9 can be prevented.
