Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent a winding from loosening due to the repetition of the thermal expansion and contraction of the winding, by inserting a heat-foamable resin layer and a wedge material into a slot and heating the resin layer to foam it. CONSTITUTION:After a winding 3 is housed in the slot 2 of the rotor 1 of a motor, a wedge material 4 provided with a foamable resin layer 41 on one side of the material is inserted into the slot. The resin layer 41 is foamed by heating. To manufacture the wedge material 4, a previously-shaped foamable resin sheet is thermally boded on a plate such as a fiber board by a hotpress or the like at a temperature lower than the foaming temperature of the resin sheet. Since some degree of elasticity is provided on a portion of the wedge material 4, the winding 3 is effectively prevented from loosening due to the thermal expansion and contraction of the winding and vibration.
