PURPOSE:To make clear a frame signal of an image pickup object and obtain a signal with good resolution, by switching in order a reset pulse in the driving pulse of an image sensor, at every 1 line, and controlling an output signal of the image sensor. CONSTITUTION:The first line controls a reset pulse in the driving pulse generating circuit 11 by the automatic line switching circuit 13, so that an output signal of odd bits is extracted from an image sensor 10. When the sensor has finished scanning the first line, its scans the second line. When scanning of the second line is started, a reset pulse of the circuit 11 is controlled by the circuit 13 so that an output signal of even bits is extracted from the sensor 10. In this way, a frame signal of an image pickup object, which is obtained from the sensor 10 becomes clear, and a signal with good resolution is obtained.
