Abstract
PURPOSE:To realize a simple and small-size structure with an assured braking for a tape braking device, by providing a brake operating member that turns two brake arms simultaneously plus a brake operating member that turns only the brake arm containing a brake opposing to the reel drive disk of the tape supply side. CONSTITUTION:The magnetic tape is reeled out of a reel 2 and then rolled round a reproducing/recording cylinder to be taken up to the other reel 3. For a braking device for such magnetic tape, the brake operating member A24 can turn the brake arms 26 and 28 simultaneously in the direction of the arrow (j) and against the tension of the tension spring 30; and the brake operating member B25 can turn only the arm 28 in the direction of the arrow (e) against the tension of the spring 30 respectively. The reel drive disk 2 of the side S is braked by the tension of the spring 33 only in case the both members 24 and 25 turn the arms 26 and 28 at a time.
