Abstract

PURPOSE:To suppress the axial torsional vibration by controlling the power consumption of parallel resistors in response to the axial torsional torque signal. CONSTITUTION:Parallel resistors 19, 20 are connected through step-down transformer 15, a step-down phase shifter 16 and thyristor bridges 17, 18 to the output side of a synchronous generator 1. The axial torsional torque of the shaft 3 detected by a detector 21 is applied through a phase advance compensating circuit 22 to a thyristor gate control circuit 23. The control circuit 23 controls the gates of the thyristor bridges 17, 18 so as to control the power consumption of the parallel resistors 19, 20. Thus, axial torsional vibration can be suppressed.
