Abstract
PURPOSE: To hold a braking force during the predetermined time even after a brake pedal is released by a method wherein a projected swaying member made of an elastic body, with which the gap between a valve seat and a valve body is closed due to the pressure difference around the gap, is provided at either the valve seat or the valve body, both of which consist of the vacuum valve of the vacuum servo device.
CONSTITUTION: When the brake pedal is operated, the braking operation is performed in the same manner as in an usual vacuum servo device: that is, a rod 36 is moved leftwards, the vacuum valve is closed, an air valve is opened, the atmospheric pressure is introduced to the changing pressure chamber of a braking device and the power piston is actuated to apply braking. When the brake pedal is released to take off braking, a valve plunger 37 is moved rightwards to close the air valve 40. When the plunger 37 is moved further rightwards, the tip of the projected swaying member 32 of the valve seat 31 is swayed outwards keeping in contact with the valve body 30 due to the condition that the inside of the changing pressure chamber 28 is kept at the atmospheric pressure while the inside of the negative pressure chamber 27 and the side of a port 46 are kept at the negative pressure and the delayed parting of the member 32 from the valve body 30 behind the time of operation of the brake pedal is resulted.
