Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide predetermined residual pressure in a residual pressure mechanism for a master cylinder in the braking operation after filling brake liquid and permit a brake system to evacuate in vacuum by providing an air bleed valve closing by the liquid pressure difference at a piston returned upon release of a brake.
CONSTITUTION: Since an air bleed valve is opened to communicate a communicating hole 6 with a liquid pressure supply hole 15, air in a brake system connected to a wheel cylinder can be effectively evacuated without large resistance if evacuating the air in vacuum from a reservoir tank side. When a brake pedal is returned to return brake liquid, a ball 25 deflects the center lip 22 to thereby move toward the top side of a valve chamber 18 to cause it to be elastically urged by the upper lip 21 to thereby close an upper hole 19. Thus, residual pressure responsive to the set pressure of a spring 13 is imparted to the brake system of wheel cylinder side.
