Abstract
PURPOSE: To prevent the settling of a pipe after a sheet pile is withdrawn in order to raise the quality of pipe line by a method in which a fluid protective wall extending along both sides of the pipe and piles for the protective wall are deeply driven before or after laying the pipe and before withdrawing the sheet pile.
CONSTITUTION: Sheet piles 2 are driven into the ground 1, a pipe-laying trench 3 is excavated, and sand base 5 is placed on the trench 3 and a synthetic resin pipe 4 is laid. In this case, before or after laying the pipe 4 and before withdrawing the sheet piles 2, fluid protective walls 7 and 8 are erected along both sides of the pipe 4, where the walls 7 and 8 are constructed by driving piles 9 deeper than the lower parts of the sheet piles 2 into the trench 3 and connecting them by fluid protective plates 10. After laying the pipe 4 on the base 5, sand 6 is filled up in the trench 3, the sheet piles 2 are drawn out, and soil is banked up. Thus, the settlement of the pipe 4 can be prevented because the sand 6 and the sand base 5 are fixed by the walls 7 and 8.
