Abstract
NEW MATERIAL:A pyridinophane compound shown by the formula I.
EXAMPLE: ( ± )-15-Formyl-14-hydroxy-5,5-dimethyl-2,8-dithia[9]( 2,5 )pyridinophane.
USE: Useful as a synthetic intermediate for a pyridoxamine compound for a racemization catalyst of an amino acid and a reagent for synthesizing an optical active amino acid. Having high catalytic activity.
PROCESS: A compound shown by the formula II (X is halogen) is condensed with a compound shown by the formula III in the presence of an alkali, to give a compound shown by the formula IV. The compound shown by the formula IV is hydrolyzed, and oxidized with an oxidizing agent (e.g., chromic anhydride, etc.) in the presence of a primary amine, to give a Schiff base which is hydrolyzed, to give a compound shown by the formula I.
