CONSTITUTION: On the basis of a rotary signal S1 from an engine rotary speed detector 3, a target signal S2 that shows a target rack position for obtaining required maximum injection quantity characteristic relating to engine rotary speed is generated from a target signal generator 4. Then said signal S2 and a position signal S4 from a position detector 7 connected to a rack position sensor 6 are compared in an error detector 8 to generate an error signal S5 and output to a variable gain amplifier 9. This amplifier 9, on the basis of output signals from a temperature correction signal generator 22 and battery voltage correction signal generator 23, adjusts a level of the error signal S5.
