Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable an invariable supervision over a tranmission system in its office without reference to the existence of a call, by comparing input-output levels as PCM pattern at a transmission system and reception system. CONSTITUTION:An input audio signal is sent as a PCM signal by way of transformer 103, variable attenuator 104, bandlimiting filter 105 and PCM coder 106. This PCM signal is supplied to comparator 111 as well adn the input qudio signal is supplied to comparator 111 by way of supervisory PCM coding circuit 110. Then, both PCM patterns are compared to each other and when abnormality is found, an alarm is given. At the reception system, on the other hand, the input PCM signal is supplied to decoder 107 and comparator 111 and the decoded output signal is PCM- coded again before being supplied to comparator 111. Then, an alarm is generated in accordance with the result of comparison between the PCM patterns.
