PURPOSE:To obtain a microwave liquid level indicator whose maintenance and inspection are easy, by isolating a microwave antenna, provided over a container, from a measurement system consisting of a microwave transmitter and microwave receiver by a shielding wall. CONSTITUTION:Over level 1 of liquid 2 in tank 3, microwave antenna 6 is provided, and this antenna 6 and measurement system 5 of a microwave oscillator and receiver are connected together with waveguide 7 penetrating shielding wall 4. A pulsating microwave generated through the oscillation of the oscillator is emitted from antenna 6 by way of waveguide 7 and then reflected by liquid level 1 to arrive at antenna 6, so measuring the time from the emission of the microwave to the reflected-wave arrival by measurement 5 makes it possible to measure the level because of the microwave because bubbles are generated on the liquid level. Further, the measurement system which requires its maintenance is isolated from the antenna system by the shielding wall, so that the maintenance inspection can be done in safety.
