Abstract

PURPOSE:To recover all of a gas for fuel generated from a converter by installing a circulation pipeline for feeding part of a recovered converter gas to a converter gas pass between the top of the converter and the upper stream side of an attraction exhaust fan. CONSTITUTION:LDG generated in converter 1 during refining is passed through water sealed valve 4 with attraction exhaust fan 3 via skirt 2 and recovery duct 2'. It enters gas holder 6 and is fed to consumption site 8 with booster fan 7 under pressure. Circulation pipeline 9 and working damper 10 are installed between skirt 2 and fan 3 to feed part of the LDG to duct 2'. Immediately before finishing the refining, the recovered LDG is fed to duct 2' to keep the concn. of CO in the system constant. At the end of the refining, gaseous N2 is allowed to spout from skirt 2 to seal the air and LDG, and the volume of LDG fed from pipeline 9 is increased. Damper 10 is closed after starting refining.
