Abstract

PURPOSE: To easily produce Ni-coated finely grained particles of low resistivity by evaporating a soln. contg. a soluble Ni salt of org. acid suspended with finely grained particles to dryness then decomposing the same by heating in a reducing atmosphere.
CONSTITUTION: Finely grained resistor particles of (BaSrCa)CO3 or the like as a core material are added to a soln. contg. a soluble Ni salt of org. acid. (e.g. nickel formate) under vigorous stirring. While this stirring is continued, the solvent is allowed to evaporate, whereby the Ni salt of the org. acid is coated on the finely grained resistor particles. Thence these coated particles are dried, thereafter they are subjected to heating reduction treatment in a reducing atmosphere of H2 or NH3, whereby the low resistivity finely grained particles coated with metallic Ni are produced. The nickel formate decomposes like Ni(HCOO)2.2H2O→Ni+ 2CO2+H2+2H2O.
