Abstract

PURPOSE:To perform a desired processing for a picture, by dividing the center picture element out of three continuous picture elements into two by a read instructing equipment to process density information and by outputting repeatedly a signal based on the difference between picture element densities in both ends and the density of the picture element in the center. CONSTITUTION:Input picture element signal Si becomes a digital signal by quantizer 40; and when required information is stored in memory 41, read instructing equipment 42 opens the gate of the stage or the address corresponding to picture elements B, E and H and distributes the output signal to operator 44 and difference equipment 43. This distribution is performed by transmitting input signals QB, QE and QH corresponding to picture elements B, E and H to the operator 44 side by the first and the third clocks. After that, operator 44 starts operating after signals QE and QB-QH are obtained, and signals O1 and O2 are output to buffer 45. This operation is repeated at the prescribed timing to achieve desired processing for the picture.
