Abstract

PURPOSE:To miniaturize the structure of a multicore optical connector by coupling two lenslike media having an optical fiber fixed at one end. CONSTITUTION:Optical fibers 10-1 and 10-2, and 11-1 and 11-2 are fixed to one- side surfaces of lenslike media 51 and 52 and the other-side surfaces are coupled mutually. In this case, optical fibers 10-1 and 10-2, and 11-1 and 11-2 connected mutually are fixed at an equal distance from optical axes C1-C1' and C2-C2' and coupled symmetrically on the optical axes. Fixation positions of the optical fibers are not limited to those in the figure and determined freely, and the length of each lenslike medium may be a 1/4Xn (integer) pitch.
