Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide the titled light-scattering adhesive compsn. which enhances the dispersion stability of fillers and does not cause a thickening and gelling phenomenon, by a method wherein when a particulate inorg. filler is blended with an acrylic adhesive, a small amount of ammonia or an amine is also blended.
CONSTITUTION: A required amount of a solvent (C) is blended with a mixt. of 90W40wt% pressure-sensitive acrylic resin adhesive (A) (whose curing characteristics and adhesiveness are not hindered by ammonia or an amine) and 10W60wt% particulate inorg. filler (B) (e.g. CaCO3). The blend is kneaded to obtain a kneaded product. Ammonia or an org. amine compd. (D) is mixed with said kneaded product in such an amount as to make the resulting compsn. neutral to slightly alkaline to obtain the desired light-scattering adhesive compsn. For example, this adhesive compsn. is coated on a polyester film to form a light-scattering self-adhesive film which is then used for a display device employing a light-emitting diode.
