Abstract

PURPOSE: Title composition that is made by mixing a crystalline nylon resin with a specific amount of composition which is prepared by partially curing a mixture of a specific elastomer and ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer in the presence of an organic peroxide, thus showing high elasticity.
CONSTITUTION: (A) A mixture of (a) elastomer selected from butyl rubber and ethylene-propylene copolymer rubber and (b) ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer containing 20W60wt% of vinyl acetate is partially cured in the presence of an organic peroxide to give a composition A. The objective composition comprises (A) 40W 95% of the resulting composition and (B) 5W60% of a nylon resin selected from nylon 11 and nylon 12.
EFFECT: The component of thermoplastic elastomer composition with partial crosslinks imparts the wide range of compatibility with polymers and functions as a plastic modifier.
