Abstract
PURPOSE: To prepare the titled foam easily by thermally curing a stable foam in a mold, which is obtd. by homogeneously dispersing an inert gas in a raw material mixt. primarily composed of an active hydrogen-containing cpd. and an org. polyisocyanate.
CONSTITUTION: A cpd. having at least two active hydrogen atoms (e.g., ethylene glycol or a polymer polyol composition), an org. polycyanate cpd. (e.g., 2,4-tolylene diisocyanate), a catalyst (e.g., nickel acetylacetonate) and, if necessary, other additives (a foam stabilizer, filler, colorant, etc.) are mixed. After a foam structurally stable in practive is formed by homogeneously dispersing an inert gas (e.g., air) into the composition obtained with mechanical agitation, the foam is casted into a mold and thermally cured.
