Abstract

PURPOSE: To effect depolymn. in a short time with good processability, by use of a tubular reactor equipped with a stirring blade capable of vertically moving a pellet, when a polyester pellet is depolymerized by being heated together with an alcohol.
CONSTITUTION: When a rejected product, waste, etc. formed in a step of producing a molded product such as a polyester fiber or film, are reclaimed into a pellet, and the pellet is depolymerized by being heated and agitated together with an alcohol, to be reused as the raw material for a resin, the depolymn. is effected by use of a tubular reactor equipped with stirring blades 2, 3 and 5 capable of upwardly moving the pellet and with stirring blade 4 capable of downwardly moving the pellet. The pellet is fed into the tubular reactor, in which the pellet is depolymerized, being vertically moved and prevented from agglomeration by revolving the stirring blades at a peripheral velocity of 0.1W1m/sec.
