Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable to reproduce the specified white color, by controlling each amplifier for R and B signals in case of white objective, through the discrimination whether or not being the white objective, by the detection of minimum hue in the high luminance. CONSTITUTION:R-Y signal and B-Y signal fed from a matrix circuit 4 are clamped 10, 11 respectively, then the outputs VY, VX obtained from the amplifications 14, 15 of each output level of the R-Y signal and B-Y signal at minimum hue which are obtained from the sampling based on the sampling pulse for each clamp output at the 1st and 2nd sampling circuits 12, 13, are input to a color discrimination circuit 16 for discrimination. The amplified outputs VY, VX are input to the 1st and 2nd control circuits 19, 20 only when the 1st and 2nd switching circuits 17, 18 pick up the white part, in which the discriminated output is taken as the control input, and the white balance of the white part detected through the control of the amplified gain of the R signal amplifier 2 and the B signal amplifier 3 is automatically adjusted with each control output.
