Abstract

PURPOSE: To facilitate assembling and disassembling of a movable impeller type mixed flow pump and to lower the cost of installation, by simplifying the structure of the pump by providing an actuating means for changing the angular position of vanes in the boss of an impeller.
CONSTITUTION: A plurality of impellers 3 are attached, in freely movable manner, to the boss 1 of an impeller which is fixed to a main shaft 7. At the lower end of the boss 1, there is formed a cylinder 1a for receiving a piston 15, and a lever 16 is also provided in the boss 1. The lever 16 and the piston 15 are connected to each other by a connecting shaft 17, and a piston rod 18 is connected to a diameter-increased portion 7a of the main shaft 7. Further, a freely slidable partition wall 19 is provided between the rod 18 and the diameter-increased portion 7a for dividing the portion 7a into an upper and a lower hydraulic oil chambers 20, 21, and oil passages 22, 23 are provided for establishing communication between the upper oil chamber 20 and the lower side of piston 15 and between the lower oil chamber 21 and the upper side of piston 15, respectively. With such an arrangement, vanes 3 can be turned to change their angle by supplying or discharging hydraulic oil to and from the upper and the lower oil chambers 20, 21.
