Abstract

PURPOSE: To select an optimal pump depending on necessity and efficiently use the output of an engine, by providing two hydraulic pumps of equal small capacity and a pump whose capacity is double that of the former pumps.
CONSTITUTION: Two hydraulic pumps 2a', 2b' of equal small capacity and a hydraulic pump 2c', whose capacity is double that of the former pumps, are coupled to the output shaft of the engine 1 of construction equipment. The discharge ports of the pumps are connected to the inlet ports 8aW8c of a two-position six-port directional control valve 8. Two outlet ports 8d, 8e of the directional control valve 8 are connected through ducts 9a, 9b to tandem directional control valves 5a, 5b, which control oil supply to actuators 6 (6aW6f). Optional switching can be effected by the directional control valve 8 to utilize the three pumps for work or running or utilize only two pumps 2a', 2b'. This results in effectively using the output of the engine.
