Abstract

PURPOSE:To regenerate a half tone for both a mesh original and nonmesh original, by installing the 1st process circuit that gives a binary coding to the photoelectric conversion output with a constant threshold level secured for binary coding plus the 2nd process circuit that switches the threshold level for binary coding and then selecting optionally one of these two process circuits. CONSTITUTION:The reflected rays from the original 1 are image-formed on the 1- dimensional solid state pickup element 3 through the image forming lens 2. The picture signals received a photoelectric conversion by the clock sent from the clock generator 4 are read out successively and supplied to the comparators 5-8 plus 12. The threshold level of the comparator 12 is set at a certain value that is decided by the resistances R6 and R7, and the output binary-coded at the comparator 12 is supplied to the gate 19. At the same time, the threshold levels of the comparators 5-8 are set at different values that are decided by the resistances R1-R5. Then the binary-coded output of the comparators 5-8 are applied to the data selector 9 and then read out successively by the FF10 and FF11 to be applied to the gate 18. Then the output of the gate 18 is selected by the selection signal SEL sent from the terminal 16 for a mesh original; and the output of the gate 19 is selected for a nonmesh original respectively.
