Abstract

PURPOSE: To perform weldings with narrow and high build up welding, by mixing a mixing a prescribed amount of iron powder into a sintering type flux and by maintaining a prescribed distance between the point of welding wire, from which the electric current is supplied, and the base metal.
CONSTITUTION: The buried arc build up welding is performed by using a sintering flux containing 10W70% iron powder and a welding wire having a diameter, for instance 4.8mm, and by maintaining the distance between the point of wire from which the electric current is suppied and the base metal at 80W250mm. In this case, by welding at a rising inclination lf less than 9°, a build up welding of narrow and ≥8mm height of build up welding can be performed. Therefore, this welding method is suitable for padding on the inner surface of iron pipe to be used as a convexed part for connecting with concrete and for padding, etc., as a reinforcement rib of steel plate.
