Abstract
PURPOSE:To easily prevent hardening gas from leaking to the outside by providing a cover member having a sealing member which is superposable on the top surface and inclined side face of a die plate in close contact therewith. CONSTITUTION:A metal mold device 3 packed with molding sand in the cavity 4a of a pair of metal molds 4 is turned to the predetermined position on a turntable. A cylinder 10 operates to cause an elevating table 9 to pressure-contact the metal mold device 3 with the under surface of a gushing box 15. A cylinder 19 operates to superpose and place a cover member 21 on the top surface and inclined side surface of a die plate 5 by way of a sealing member 25 and press-contact the same surely with a flange 20a. Further, a hardening gas is blown into the cavity 4a through a hollow hole 13a and a blow hole 16, whereby the packed molding sand is hardened. At the same time, the leaking gas is removed through a suction duct 27. When the molding sand hardens, the cylinders 10, 19 are operated respectively reverse, so that the cover member 21, the elevating table 19 and the metal mold device 3 return to the home positions and the turntable 1 turns, thence the hardened mold is taken out.
