Abstract

PURPOSE: To manufacture water with good operating efficiency by supplying lesser amounts of heat energy by introducing separated steam into a vapor pressure compression type still in an apparatus to make water from moisture present in gases.
CONSTITUTION: In a water making apparatus in which water is manufactured from moisture present in gases, e.g., the atmospheric air, when separated steam is introduced into a vapor pressure compression type still 20, the steam is sucked, reduced its pressure, and sent to a heat exchanger 22 where it is condensed to water. In this case, since the latent heat of condensation then is given to a low quality water 21, which is boiled and steam produced is sent to the heat exchanger 22 by a compressor 23, where the steam is condensed to high quality water which is in turn stored in a water receiving tank 26. Thus, water can be manufactured with good efficiency simply by supplying lesser amounts of mechanical energy to the compressor 23.
