Abstract
PURPOSE: To measure a roll gap accurately, by fixing a guide part through a hollow plug, where pressure fluid is flowed, to cause play of the bearing of the guide roll to disappear and by bringing a prescribed rotary roller into contact with the opposite inside face of a mold and a molding piece guide roll to measure dimensions.
CONSTITUTION: In the gap measuring unit for molding guide rolls of a continuous casting equipment, when pressurized fluid is flowed to expansion plug 27 of guide part 4, plug 27 expands, and press-fixing plate 28 is pressed to one opposite inside face of mold 43 and guide and molding piece guide rolls to fix guide part 14 and cause play of the guide roll bearing to disappear. Rotray roller 16 at the tip of measuring shafts 17 and 18 of the first measuring part 15 is press-contacted to left and right inside faces of mold 43 through spring 19, and dimensions are measured by measuring equipment 21. Similarly, the second measuring part is used to measure dimensions between upper and lower inside faces. As a result, the guide roll gap is detected accurately.
