Abstract

PURPOSE: To form a body which occludes light selectively, by forming unevenness on a base surface at different angles to the reference surface of the base and by making at least one-side surfaces of respective couples of surfaces into light-absorptive surfaces.
CONSTITUTION: On the surface of base 1 of a transparent material, such as glass and plastics, many surfaces differeing in angle to reference surface 11 are formed in parallel. Light-absorptive layer 2 is provided on at least the one-side surface of each couple of the surfaces by metal vapor deposition, etc. Light incident to this light-absorptive layer 2 is intercepted as shwon by the arrow, and that incident to the other is transmitted to the reverse surface via base 1. This direction-selective light-shielding body is used for window glass, lighting appliance, etc., with functions of indirect lighting and of adjusting the quantity of lighting automatically.
