Abstract
PURPOSE: To make the charging work of powder easy reduce the seattering of the molten play and shorten the working time of stamping after the end of casting by providing high-frequency vibrators which apply the specific frequency to the side ends of the wall surfaces of the mold.
CONSTITUTION: This mold for continuous casting consists of broad mold faces 1, 1' and narrow mold faces 2, 2'; each mold having a cooling water box 3 and a mold copper plate 4. The mold copper plate 4 is provided with slits 8, 8' over the entire width of the mold, in the horizontal direction above and below the meniscus position M at the casting. A vibration connecting plate 5 is provided in the form of a flange to the position corresponding to the meniscus, and a high-frequency vibrator 6 applying 5-50kHz vibrations is disposed on the side end of the side surface of the mold. These decrease friction force, prevent seizure, and make the charging work of powder easy on account of the decreased number of the vibrators in the upper part of the mold.
