Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve the precision of a measurement of the peeling strength of a thin film whose peeling strength is to be measured by winding part of the thin film around a roller and by peeling the thin film off the substrate of a test piece by rolling the roller on the substrate. CONSTITUTION:Test-piece substrate 30 is fitted to cross head 28, part of thin film 32 is fixed to catch part 34 of band 33, and the other end of band 33 is fixed to substrate 30. Next, as cross head 28 is lowered, substrate 30 is pulled up and rollers 24 and 25, thin film 32 and band 33 move up while rolling on substrate 30 to peel thin film 7 off substrate 30. Therefore, while the shape of the sample near the peeled part is kept constant, the force required for peeling is measured by load detector 20 and then recorded on recorder 36 with the relation with the extent of movement of cross head 28. Thus, the measurement precision of the peeling strength is improved because the shape of the sample near the peeled part is invariably constant.
