Abstract
PURPOSE:The titled mold, inclined toward the exit of the ingot from a fixed position in the direction of drawing the ingot corresponding to the contraction of the inner face and also, enabled to take out the ingot uniformly cooled nearly over the whole circumference at the exit of the mold. CONSTITUTION:Inside wall of the upper wall structure 1a is linearly inclined downward toward the exit of the ingot from the end of entrance side of the horizontal continuous casting mold 1. On this occasion, the inclination (rate) can be shown by (WX100)/LO.W(%/m), where LO is the length of the mold 1 in drawing direction, W is the upper and lower maximum width of the mold 1; w is a subtract obtd. by subtractivity the upper and lower width of exit of the ingot of the mold 1 from the said W, i.e. the inclination width. Further, the most favorable result is obtained when the above inclination (rate) is within a range between 0.4-2.0.
