Abstract
PURPOSE:To realize a direct D/A conversion without changing the pulse train into a parallel form once in case a D/A conversion is given to the serial pulse train, by making use of the characteristics of an elastic surface wave device itself. CONSTITUTION:The weighted electrode 2 and the normal electrode 3 are formed on the same transmission line of the piezoelectric substrate. The electrode 2 has a logarithm of MXN pair (M>=1, N>=2) with an equal pitch secured among the electrode fingers plus an equal crossing width of the electrode fingers of the adjacent M pairs. At the same time, the crossing width changes successively in the ratio of 2<i> or 2<-i> (i=0, 1...N-1) and with every M pair in the direction of propagation of the elastic surface wave. The electrode 3 has a logarithm of M pair. Thus an output converted into an analog value can be obtained from the electrode 2 by supplying the pulse train corresponding to each bit of the digital signal from the electrode 3.
