Abstract
PURPOSE:To reduce the propagation loss based on the leakage of surface wave, by remarkably decreasing the Fourier components of piezoelectric or elastic oscillation filed causing the leakage of surface waves, through the constitution of a dummy electrode with nonperiodic electrode fingers. CONSTITUTION:A surface wave reed screen shape converter is formed by giving weight on the electrode finger length of a reed screen shape electrode crossing 31 provided to a piezoelectric board and providing a dummy electrode 32 at the noncrossing section of said reed screen shape electrode. Further, in this converter, taking the wave length of elastic surface waves as lambda, and the period of electrode finger of the crossing 31 as P, the nonperiodic shape electrode is formed so that the crossing 31 has the electrode finger satisfying the relation of P/lambda>0.5 and the dummy electrode 32 has the electrode/nonelectrode area ratio equal to the crossing 31 at an arbitrary area.
