Abstract
PURPOSE: To regulate the balance between the amount of gas manufactured and that used as well as save the quantity of heat for preheating a gasification apparatus, by a method in which liquid fuel is mixed with water, passed through a steam reforming catalyst to convert it into gasified fuel, and then stored under a high pressure.
CONSTITUTION: After raising the temperature of a reaction chamber 2 to a given temperature by energizing the heater 4 of a gasifying convertor 1, a water supply pump 12 is operated, the water is heated on the way for evaporation, and the water vapor is supplied into the reaction chamber 2 in the form of heated water vapor. Later, a liquid fule supply pump 10 is operated and liquid fuel is supplied to the reaction chamber 2 where it is vaporized by a vaporized liquid fuel 13. At this stage, both undergo a steam reforming reaction over a catalyst layer 3 and gas formed there is cooled by water on the way and then stored in a gas trap 19. Thereby, excessive water vapor is condensed by a double pipe 15 and then stored in a residual water storage 23. The residual water is again sent to the reaction chamber 2 by a water supply pump 12.
