Abstract
PURPOSE: To considerably improve slaking resistant property and refining effect by consisting a refining agent of CaO and alkaline earth metal fluoride of a specific compositions, coating alkaline earth metal fluoride on CaO matrix surfaces in a liquid phase state and solidifying the same.
CONSTITUTION: Calcium carbonate as a CaO source, quicklime, and fluorite as, for example, a CaF2 source are compounded in a manner as to be contained at 90W 95wt% CaO and 5W10wt% CaF2. These are charged into a rotary kiln. Thereupon, the mixture is fired at temp. above the softening point of alkaline earth metal fluoride and is ground after cooling. Then, the alkaline earth metal fluoride is coated in a liquid phase state on the surface of CaO matrix and is solidified.
