Abstract

PURPOSE: To make a reliable operation of a water pump by a method wherein before the pump is started, seal water is supplied to the shaft seal part of the water pump that discharges water from a vacuum water tank and after the water pump stops, the seal water is cut.
CONSTITUTION: When a water level in a water tank 2 rises and a high-level switch 8 operates, an electromagnetic valve 22 is excited through a control circuit 13 and seal water 23 can be supplied to the shaft seal part before the water pump 3 is started. After an intended time of a period an inlet valve 9 is opened by a timer 24 and simultaneously the water pump 3 is started. If the water level in the water tank 2 falls down to an intended level, a low-level switch 10 operates, the water pump 3 stops simultaneously, after an intended time of period the inlet port 9 is shut and moreover the electromagnetic valve 22 is deenergized and seal water 23 is stopped from being supplied. Thus, extreme vacuum in the inlet of the pump at the starting time can be prevented and the water pump 3 can be operated reliably.
